This calcite specimen from Santa Eulalia has a layer of calcite druzy with several larger modified rhombohedral calcite crystals perched atop. The druzy is well-formed, composed of interlocking calcite crystals. The piece appears finely dusted with cinnamon brown color: this is hematite which causes the red and brown coloration of the mineral.

UV reactivity The calcite fluoresces a weak white under 365nm UV light.
