This set includes one medium mushroom and seven matched miniature ones, carved from complementary colors of yellow and red agate.

Agate is another member of the quartz family: the term is used to describe chalcedony (a cryptocrystalline form of quartz) that is banded, meaning it has stripes of color. In this set the agate forms bold stripes and colorful banding in warm tones of yellow, red, orange, and brown.

I picked up the largest mushroom in this set because of the interesting open vein that runs through the cap of the mushroom and down the stem: it is filled with frosty double-terminated crystals the shape of a rice grain, likely low quality quartz.
