Cubaris murina "Glacier" Isopod
The Glacier variety of Cubaris isopods, sometimes also called White Glacier, gets its name from its snow white coloration. The white doesn't always stay very white when they are digging through dirt (I included a picture of one of my dirty bois). The translucent color on its back means that meals often show through, so it easily ends up with 'you are what you eat' discoloration. You're seeing the affectionately-named "poot-shoot," just like the digestive tract vein down the back of shrimp. It can be fun to experiment with giving Glacier treats like shrimp, beet, and carrot and watching them tint with color.
