Cubaris sp. "Platin, Tung Song"
Cubaris sp. "Platin, Tung Song"
Platin, Tung Song (native to Tung Song, Thailand) is one of my favorite Cubaris varieties. They have beautiful subtle patterning with a golden stripe up their back. Because these little buddies are native to the limestone caves of Thailand, they prefer a higher humidity. I give mine pieces of limestone as a calcium supplement and they definitely use it.
This variety tends to stay under their hide and leaf litter, and can be pretty well-camouflaged, so you may not see them much until they're established. The good news is that Platin, Tung Song is faster to reproduce than a lot of types of Cubaris, more on par with slower Armadillidiums.
