GIVE PEAS A CHANCE! It is hard to go wrong with freeze dried peas, they will likely be one of the staples of your isopods' diet. These bags are stuffed about as full as I could get them and still seal the bag, and each pea jar (not like that) is packed tight; I rattle them to settle contents and then stuff in more so your pods get plenty.
Freeze dried peas are a good source of protein, an important part of the isopod food pyramid. Some varieties of isopods can resort to cannibalism if they aren't regularly provided with supplemental protein (I'm looking at you, porcellios). More important, peas are pretty much universally beloved as an isopod treat—most varieties will get excited for them. The freeze dried variety is light enough for adults to drag away to their burrows, and a lot of isopods will end up on their back rotating the pea as they munch away.
**Jars are not vacuum-sealed, but are provided for improved long-term storage compared to bags. My isopods really have not cared about food being stale though, they are digging in as long as it isn't moldy!
