Stapelia divaricata x
Stapelia divaricata x
Family Apocynaceae
Subfamily Asclepiadoideae
Tribe Ceropegieae
Genus Stapelia
Species divaricata x
Stapelia divaricata is a compact succulent with neat upright stems. It does well in smaller pots (up to 6") and is a fast grower once established. The green stems can tint purple on the ends with sun stress, and the color deepens over the winter.
This is a hybrid of divaricata and another stapeliad, unknown. The hybrid has the fleshiest of flowers, a leathery surface of yellowish-beige color with a light pink blush, covered with fine wrinkles and hairs. It's not a super heavy bloomer, but flowers last a lot longer than other varieties, staying open for a week or longer. Relative to its size, divaricata x is fairly pungent. It's not noticeable from a distance but impossible to miss if you stick your nose in it.
